If you are among my loyal readers (thank you for that 🙂 ), then you probably know that I’m a strong advocate of the versatile design, regardless of its category. I love versatile clothes, I like transforming them or at least to use them in many and very different situations. The whole idea of these shoe clips I’m making came from my desire to transform, redesign and why not maximize the potential of the shoes I own. I adore accessories for the same reason and I use them a lot to transform my outfits. Even more and for the same reason I find it amazing to be able to maximize the use of your home space with some very cool pieces of convertible furniture.

Personally, I think in the future we’ll use smaller home spaces, we will give up living in over 100 square meters apartments and over 300 sqm houses. I think that the effort to take care of a large home space and the high costs that come with it will motivate us to rethink our priorities and to redesign the space. If we fail to find effective and inexpensive heating and electricity solutions, then this is how the future might look, which is not necessarily very bad.

I watch with great interest  a show on Fine Living Network  called “Tiny house, Big living” where you can see even families with 2 children giving up houses of hundreds of sqm for a tiny house with no more than 40 sqm. How do they manage that? Well, it’s with the help of smart design. Everything is thought to have multiple functionalities, no space is lost, everything can be transformed.   I’m not saying that we’ll all live in these tiny houses, but I think that the idea of multiple functionalities and the maximum use of space it’s extraordinary intelligent.

This is what the next photos are all about: intelligent design that leads to intelligent use of space! I know people who live in studio apartments that are forced to sleep on a sofa which is not the most comfortable. Well, how about these Murphy beds that disappear in the cabinet? Maybe the tables that look like paintings or pieces of furniture that hide chairs and a table?  I find them remarkable innovations and the fact that more and more similar products appear every day makes my think that my forecast on the future of home living might be correct.
